Adoption Assistance Program

All adoptive families face adjustments as a lifelong process.
Many times the difficulties that arise are more than a family could be expected to handle alone.
Sometimes, outside help is needed.

Welcome to the AAP Lending Library

  AAP Lending Library

The books represented in our collection span a variety of adoption related topics.   The library is currently geared to adult readers, both parents and professionals, though there are titles appropriate for adolescent readers as well.

  • Books may be borrowed for a period of four weeks.
  • You may visit the library during the week to browse the entire collection.
  • Please phone ahead (877-679-1961) if you plan to visit us!
  • We are located in the Exchange across from the UCONN Health Center in Farmington. Convenient parking is available for all visitors, and driving directions are on the website.
  • Books may also be borrowed by submitting either a phone or email request.
  • Please include the name of the book, the author’s name, and your name, full address with zip code, a daytime phone number, and your email address.
  • If the title is available, it will be mailed to you at no expense within a few days.
  • We ask that only one book be borrowed at a time.
  • Books should be returned within the four week time frame.

If a borrower wishes, an extension may be requested by emailing the coordinator (amack@uchc.edu).  If there is not a wait list for the title, the book may be kept for an additional four weeks.  Books may be returned to the Exchange, Suite 262 and left at the reception desk during normal hours of operation (M-F 8am-5pm).  They may also be returned through the US Mail at the borrower’s expense.  If mailed, please wrap the book carefully and address to:
