Clinical Services

The Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (DOEM) provides clinical services for the diagnoses and treatment of Occupational and Environmental illnesses and injuries.

The clinic is open five-day per week (Monday through Friday) and is backed up, when closed, by the Urgent Care Center and the Emergency Department of the John Dempsey Hospital for off hours and holiday visits. Clinical Services are located in Dowling North Building in the 3rd floor, on the Lower Campus (860-679-2893).

The DOEM clinical services provide a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation of complex medical problems related to the work place and or to the environment. The clinic is staffed by physicians, Board Certified in Preventive Medicine as specialists in OEM, nurse practitioner(s) also Certified in Occupational Health Nursing and Board Certified in Family Practice, registered nurses and medical assistant(s). Additionally, an industrial hygienist, a social workers and an ergonomist are in the staff and available as required for consultation.

The Employee Health Service (EHS) for the University of Connecticut Health Center is housed in the DOEM clinic. The EHS serves the needs of employees, volunteers, medical students, dental students, graduate students and resident physicians and dentists.
